Whether
you drive “one man” or “two man” cars, two Unity spotlights are
better every time. In a
“two man” car the benefits of having an instant aimable light for each
officer that can be directed when and where you want it are impressive.
Use them as alley lights, as take down lights, as searchlights for
‘maximum safety at the scenesm’.
Since
spotlights are aimable, traffic stops are safer for the officers.
By positioning one spotlight in the side mirror and the other in
the rearview mirror the drivers vision can be impaired allowing the
officer to approach the vehicle without becoming a silhouette.
Unlike
fixed bar lights, Unity spotlights can be properly positioned so that they
are focused on the stopped vehicle not into on-coming traffic.
Traffic stops become safer for all motorists and minimize
congestion.
By
using two Unity spotlights, “One man” cars can enjoy all the safety
benefits of a “two man” car as well as the illusion of two officers in
the vehicle. By hooking up
the passengers side spotlight so that the driver can turn it on (this may
be done simply with a separate toggle switch or through a switching
console), the officer turns on the passenger side spotlight
(pre-positioned in operating position) then turns on the driver side
spotlight. The driver of the
stopped vehicle now believes there is a second officer in the vehicle
providing greater safety during the stop. |
