Lucky these switches are still available for an older style remote search light.. I guess quality never goes out of style.

Q:
Will this switch cap work on an older H-1 model? I bought a very cool old Unity light at a garage sale but it didn't have an end cap or switch. Is this switch brushed metal or chrome finish? Thank you.

Q:
My switch has failed (toggle will not move) Can I just replace the switch cap and toggle or do I need to replace the switch and wire assy also? Last failure on the oher light I replaced the entire 6701 handle assy.

Since we are unable to inspect the light to determine the cause of the issue, we cannot be sure if replacing the cap and toggle will fix the issue. But if the issue is related to the toggle then only it would need to be replaced and not the switch also.

we have a unity model 304 that the thumb switch is worn out will this toggle assembly work with my model? (U-6002-A1 Switch Cap & Toggle Assembly) it looks the same.

A:
We do not have a model 304. If you mean model S04 which is the current model spotlight then the answer is maybe. This was the original cap & toggle used on model S04 lights. Depending on when it was made this is correct. If the light was made recently (past 2 years) Then it may be U-8596 Cap and U-8597-A Toggle.
Easiest way to tell them apart is the hole for the toggle is a circle on U-6002-A1 and it is a square on U-8596.

Q:
How do I reinstall the switch cap and toggle? With it being spring loaded, what is the trick or special tool needed? Thanks

A:
No special tool needed, but there is a trick that helps. Make sure the tip of the toggle is on the plate of the switch box inside the handle. Depress the spring section against the plate as the cap is being put on. Try to come from the bottom and bring the cap up and over to snap on. I hope that helps if not please let us know.
