NOT FOR RESALE
Unity Z-8547 LED Clear Replacement Spot Lamp 6 inch diameter PAR 46 LED Clear Spot Lamp, 30 watts, 215,000 candlepower, 50,000 hours lamp life, tightly controlled spot beam. The lamp has a hard-coated, polycarbonate, sealed lens and an anodized aluminum die cast reflector. Screw terminal design fits model S6 and S04 rooflights, spotlights and decklights.
Lights are the same as U-8547, but have some radio interference for radios that operate between 240-360 KHz range when the light is on. When the light is off there is no interference. Range matches Police and Emergency Vehicle range, but should not affect standard AM/FM radios. Good for standard and off-road vehicles.

LED Review
I never used the stock halogen that came with my spotlight. I immediately swapped it out for the LED. When my body guy installed the spotlight, he happened to turn it on with one of his workers looking at it--he was temporarily blinded! It is very easy to swap this bulb for the halogen. I saw a different brand LED swapped on YouTube and it was very complicated, connectors had to be added. To swap simply remove the hex screw at the bottom of the spotlight. Turn the ring to the left and remove the halogen. On the Unity spotlight, you remove all the attached wiring and the 3 gray foam shims. Attach the new wires to the LED--the ones that it came with--and use also the 3 new shims that come with it. The LED is thicker than the halogen, so you will have to use the new shims. Assemble spotlight in reverse order. This LED light for the price is a real bargain. In fact I ordered a spare--just in case. If you noticed, all the new cop cars are going to the LED. I would recommend that you buy this light while it is available at this great price!

This light is so bright. I work security at a Marina and this light works perfectly and you can see for quite a distance. I would highly recommend this light to anyone thinking of switching over to LED. You will not be disappointed.

Q:
Any known interference with CB radios? They operate at much higher frequencies but I have to ask.
Asked by:
Terry
- 9/25/2016
A:
We have not tested EMI against specific radio types. The interference shows up as being possible in tests at the range of 240-360 KHz, but we have yet to see it cause real world issue. However, since there is still a chance we need to note it. Interference would occur only while the light is turned on. It would stop right when the light is turned off.

Q:
What does "EMI" stand for? The non-EMI lamp cost more, just wondering why. Thank you,
Asked by:
Marco
- 7/9/2018
A:
ElectroMagnetic Interference. These lamps have a defect in them that may disrupt radios when the light is on. Only radios in 240-360 KHz range would be impacted. This should not be an issue for standard car radios but may impact emergency vehicle communication radios. As that is the majority of our customer base we cannot sell them as standard LED lamps and instead mark them down for customers who can use them. The issue is only present if the light is turned on and goes away when light is turned off.
