Q:is this model available in black finish instead of chrome? also what shaft length/mount kit would be needed for a 1950 ford coupe?
Asked by: Alan
- 10/19/2015
A: This light is chrome plated brass. It is not available in black. For a black spotlight you would need to go with our current model spotlight with black ABS housing.
The shaft length for a 1950 Ford Coupe would be "A". For the current model black spotlight part would be 330A-0002.
If this is a new installation, you will also need a mounting kit. For a closed you would need 27 installation kit for driver side or 27RH installation kit for passenger side.
For convertible you would need 29 installation kit for driver side or 29RH installation kit for passenger side.

Q:As you do not doe S1 anymore, Could I install a S6 on my 1939 Olds? Would you have the mounting bracket (98) available?
Asked by: ronald
- 12/23/2016
A: A S6 spotlight can be mounted on a 1939 Oldsmobile. Spotlight should have an A length shaft. We have 98 installation kit available. It was used for 1939 Oldmobile Model 70-80. If you have a different model, a different installation kit may be needed.
A: That would depend on the options you need/ want for your car. Options can be selected on this product listing. Once all options have been chosen, the listing generates the price. If you need help determining what options would be correct for your vehicle, we would just need the make, model, and year of the vehicle to help direct you to what would have been used.

Q:I'm building a kustom car. It's been chopped and modified... Is there a universal spot light and mounting kit? My make of car isn't listed.
Asked by: Rytang
- 2/18/2018
A: Without any idea of what the vehicle or base vehicle is its hard to know what might work. We don't have a universal bracket, but the 52 installation kit and 52RH installation kit are adjustable. We use them for upfitters like Fire engine, work truck and ambulance manufacturers to try to make a bracket work for their heavily modified vehicles. Without a vehicle application there is no template for installing the the bracket. You will need to make sure that when drilling the hole there are no airbags, wires, vents, speakers etc in the post that the light would interfere with or that it would not get too close to steering wheel. Also the light must be installed as horizontal as possible to insure proper function.

Q:I can't seem to find a part number for a shaft assembly for the S6 light. Are there shaft assemblies available, or do I need to order a rod and gear, intermediate shaft, and outer shaft separately?
Asked by: Dennis Moore
- 5/31/2018
A: Full shaft assemblies are available, but without knowing what shaft length you need, I cannot provide correct part number. On the home page of our website on the left side under Category is "Spotlights". Click on that. On that page click "Spotlight Catalog" under Sub-Categories. This brings up a list of the different shaft options. Clicking on the correct shaft length will give you a list of all spotlights available for that shaft length and the replacement shaft assembly. Part number will begin with 3615.

Asked by: gene ricalton
- 10/11/2018
A: Our earliest black handle S6 spotlights started around 1970, we don't have record of exact date. S6 spotlights with black handles are still in production. Without more information the light could have been made any time in between.
