Q:Hello, What vintage spotlight would I order for a 1953 Chevy truck on both driver and passenger side and what mounting kit should I order for window post mount? Thanks
Asked by: Wynn Grimet
- 8/13/2017
A: For 1953 Chevrolet Truck you need a spotlight with a B length shaft. For lamp our records have that the vehicle was originally 6 volt, so U-4515 should be used. If the truck was converted to 12 volt then use U-4405. Ornament is your choice, we would recommend either the Unity (Raised) or GM (Raised) Ornament. Handle color is your choice, but ivory is correct for the time period. A 25 installation kit is needed for driver side mount or a 25RH installation kit for passenger side mount.

Q:What is the appropriate install kit for a 2011 Kia Sorento? What shaft length is recommended or required?
I cannot find any reference to my vehicle in your look up tables.
Asked by: greyfox74
- 9/1/2015
A: Unfortunately, the 2011 Kia Sorento cannot have a standard spotlight mounted on it. The light would interfere with the deployment of the side air curtain.
We would recommend either a rooflight or handheld spotlight

Q:is the bulb housing made out of plastic or metal?
Asked by: BRIAN
- 7/23/2015
A: The shell and ring that hold in the lamp are both made out of chrome plated brass in our Chicago Factory on the same machines we have used since the 1940s to make these lights
We do not have a 5" diameter plastic housing for spotlights. Our high impact ABS housing are only available in 6" round and 4" x 6" rectangular housings.

Q:In your vintage "customizer" series, I see that you offer ornaments specific to vehicle manufacturers. Is it possibly to order a light with an "IH" for International Harvester? I have seen vintage Unity lights for sale that were OEM optioned on old IH trucks.
Thanks,
Steve

A: Only shield style ornaments are available for International Harvester. They have been added to the 5" spotlight options and a sample picture of the shield is in the product description.

Asked by: neill jaeger
- 12/9/2015
A: All spotlights and installation kits are sold separately. 1946 Chevy Closed Car uses a spotlight with an "A" length shaft on both sides of the vehicle. For driver side an 11 installation kit is need and for passenger side an 11RH kit. We are not sure what you mean by "back to wind shield" but the head of the light can be rotated 360 degrees and the light can be rotated within its mounting in up to a 120 degree arch.
