Q: can I use this to change my lamp from 12v to 6v, at the moment I have a 4435 12v fitted ?

A: No. This lamp is for a 5" diameter spotlight and would be able to change that size light to 6 volt. 4435 lamp you currently have is for 6" spotlights, so this one would be too small to fit. The 6 volt lamp for 6" diameter spotlights is U-4535
